The problem with Ryan Seacrest

Here’s what’s really scary. In the past few months, “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” has spread to approximately 140 markets, including most of the 50 largest cities in America. How did this happen? The show has no record of ratings success. The content is no different and no better than the average local radio morning show. Okay, Ryan gets more and better celebrity guests, but who cares. There’s absolutely nothing special about his interviews — no intimacy and no revelations.

Imus’ return to airwaves confirmed

The Drudge Report had the scoop back on October 15, but it was confirmed today: Don Imus will return to the airwaves December 3 on New York’s WABC-AM. Citadel Broadcasting Corp. made the announcement Thursday, confirming long-rumored reports that Imus was returning to morning drive time in the same city where he was banished in April. Imus’ newsman, Charles McCord, is returning with him, says the Associated Press.

Legendary Cousin Brucie re-signs with Sirius

Sirius Satellite Radio said Wednesday it re-signed legendary classic rock DJ Bruce Morrow, known on-air as “Cousin Brucie,” to an exclusive multiyear deal. (AP story)
