Q&A: Recycling bits and conversations

I’m for it, especially if the bit/conversation was a hit the first time around. If you’re not comfortable with the idea of simply rerunning a bit as if it were being done the first time, you can always set it up: “So earlier in the show we were talking about campaign signs being stolen and we had call from Janice from the south side who shared this story… (call).” Then follow up with something new, like another call or a new angle on the conversation. Often, if I’ve had a great phoner topic late in the show one day, I’ll use the best call or two to jump-start the same conversation very early the next morning. You’ll probably have a very different audience that would enjoy the topic just as much.

How do you handle recycling? Post a comment.
