I just watched the trailer for The Boat That Rocked (Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kenneth Branagh) and thought I’d share it with you. Looks like a helluva lot of fun…

It starts off with the little lad going to bed & putting his radio under his pillow to listen to his favourite radio station ‘Radio Rock’(Get the snippets for the FM Station here!) Radio Rock is on the ship which is very much like Radio Caroline. An interesting fact that comes up on screen is that in 1966 The BBC only played 45 minutes of pop music a week!

The film goes on to tell the story of how the British Government attempt & eventually succeed to shut them down.

It’s all filmed on the ship with some really funny lines & moments.

At the end of the film when the credits come up everyone stayed to watch them. It’s a must see with out giving anything away it mentions that we now have 299 Radio stations playing Rock & Pop music in the UK. (All owned by 4 or 5 big groups thou)

I took my wife & she’s not an anorak but really enjoyed it
